Default "Jade Brotherhood World" - How can I do in those pesky Ritualists?

So, Here's the story.

I have been using my vengeful echo build with me Mesmer/Ritualist in the Wajjun Bazaar for some time, farming Jade Brotherhood and Am Fah. I know there are better places to farm but...I have my reasons Aaanyway, I can deal with knights, mages and mesmers..not a problem...but when it comes to a mob with a ritualist in I'm stuck since their Soothing Memories is just too darn good.

The build I currently run with is:

Channeling
Arcane Echo
Vengeful was Khanhei {E}
Mantra of Flame
Vengeful Weapon
Ancestors Visage
Soothing Memories
Sympathetic Visage

The usual vengeful echo build with a minor tweak (Mantra of Flame) so that the Jade Brotherhood Mages deal less damage - plus there's the energy bonus! The Jade Brotherhood Ritualists seem to be able to heal everybody too fast! so ordinarily, if I were facing a group of knights, mages and mesmers I would be able to get them all down with 3 cycles through Vengeful was Khanhei, half of them still have half their health intact if there is a Ritualist around.

I had thought about dualling it with an Ele so that the Ele could spike off the ritualists nice and quick but where's the fun in that when you could potentially solo them?

So does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to get rid of the rits? I can't think of anything anymore...I thought about casting Spirit Shackles on them to drain off their energy so they can't cast anything but the problem is they use Tranquil was Tanasen so they don't wand me at all...also I can't interrupt him because of his ashes...so I'm stumped.

The main reason for wanting to be able to solo them is to be able to solo the whole island to make the run a bit more worthwhile (plus I might get one of their lovely little fans!).

That's all fine and all...but they heal the other members of their mob so that the ashes don't manage to kill everything first...and I can't wand them while I'm holding ashes...for the obvious reason that I'm holding ashes...

That may work 1v1 but when they're part of a mob I don't see it working!

I'm pretty sure that you won't be able to kill the rits. They use an ashes spell which means that you can't dmg then because they don't attack and if you end up 1v1 with them your wanding probably won't be able to outdmg their healing.

Try Empathy. I have found it to work very well with VwK rit against stubborn enemies.

you could just aggro and run back till mages and rits are in one group then run up to them cast sv and all your others junk and kill? as long as you keep sv/av up they will not be able to heal.

But of course you probably thought of this already. Backfire or even diversion FTW.

I had the same problem with this build. So yeah, I just had my wife join me with an SS necro. That solved that.

@Celestial - I don't know this build well enough, can you eventually substitute channeling if needed?
I'd try to run up close to him so that AV and SV also remove the Rit's energy when the warrior hits you. Then he can't use his spells any more and will eventually die.

You could try arcane larceny + thievery
Its a chance.

I've been using both recently and the double steal of the same skill isnt as big a factor as everyone thinks.....I've only stolen the same skill with both arcanes once (in a pvp arena).

Arkantos, you tell me to read before I post, and I advise you to think before you post. Like allready mentioned they dont hold ashes all the time. And yes, I have killed those rits before.

Back to the original post... Have you tired to interrupt a heal? Not sure if that will work, but since you are a secondary mesmer, you have that option.

Probably not. Even when you hit the rit without ashes, soothing memories has just 5/1/5. Your interrupts take way longer to reload.

if he can spare a few points for domination that might work, though catching the heal will take some training. And sometimes brotherhood mesmers remove hexes...

I still think running up with AV ans SV should be enough while there are melee around. Another idea (as his points seem to be in restoration /illusion /inspiration) is maybe also signet of humility, to remove their elite-ashes and make them attack.

Okay
MY Rit mes build for ghial and those other rits
VwK
Arcane echo
Empathy
sig of disruption
vengefulweapon
BACKFIRE
mantra of resolve
soothing memories

standard Vwk arcane VwK on everything
then when only rit is left hit him with backfire then empathy and use vengeful weapon to deal more damage
sig of disruption is for his soothing memories usually come after channel strike

it works great and I use it all the time

If you want a demo of this catch me in game
